Every year when this happens I obsess about What I Did With My Extra Hour. Of course I get to pick which hour was the extra one, so I try to choose one in which I was especially happy.

I'll tell you what I did with my extra hour. I had to get up at 2 AM to set all the clocks back. Whatta pain. Good thing it's only twice a year.

What we did with our extra hour was get up to deal with Andrew screaming, pounding, and slapping himself.

It's helmet time.

(Does anyone know if there's such a thing as a boxer's helmet, or sparring helmet? A soft helmet, maybe?)

Catherine, somewhere I have seen helmets that are made of light metal, with big air holes in them, and with puffy stuff all over them. They looked pretty good for your purpose. I'm thinking they were for inline skating and skateboarding? Check out a sporting goods store.

But how will you keep it on him? Or would you just put it on when he needs it?

Well, so far horseback riding helmets are not the answer.

Ed had dug Jimmy's out of the attic, and Andrew was able to take it right off.

Getting it on him in the first place was a trip.

There are. They are used in pretty much all amateur boxing. I make no recommendation for this link, boxing helmets, it was the first I saw on Google, but it does have pictures.

That site is perfect.

If I have to get something (and I think I do) I'd much rather have something soft. It just doesn't make sense to put a hard helmet on top of a hard head.....
