the Kumon studentKumon students are organized, tenacious, modest and skilled. With strong study habits and long term, positive learning experiences they are well prepared for higher learning. Mr. Liu liked the Brian Mickelthwait article I gave him. He told my friend Kathy, who brought her daughter to the center today, that it accurately describes Asian culture. Asian culture, he said, 'is persistent and patient.' Me, I've always had to rely on a double-dose of persistent. Which is not a bad work-around. source: The Kumon Method Back to main page. Yep, I know what you mean about persistent. I had to be persistent with Ben tonight. It seems that he's forgotten everything we've done for the last two weeks. In fact, tonight he had pretty much forgotten how to divide 14 by 2. -- CarolynJohnston - 20 Nov 2005 Carolyn, I've forgotten Ben's age so perhaps this isn't appropriate, so take it with a grain of salt. With Kate (4th grade), if she's tired, it's time wasted trying to get her to do work. Even when she seems fairly alert and willing, if we have her do a Kumon at say, 8pm, it's always done poorly. The next morning, she can whiz through it with no problem. -- ChrisAdams - 22 Nov 2005 Definitely no KUMON at 8 pm. -- CatherineJohnson - 22 Nov 2005 This applies to all ages and levels of ability, and not just to math. -- PaulMiller - 23 Nov 2005 Chris, This is definitely true of Ben, and it was true on the occasion I mentioned above. If he's tired, he's really out of it. -- CarolynJohnston - 24 Nov 2005
